Under One Sun: How Pagans and Monotheists Are All Children of the Same Source

Under One Sun: How Pagans and Monotheists Are All Children of the Same Source

This is my understanding of the ancient story, a perspective that bridges history, spirituality, and the human search for the Source.

🌞
 UNDER ONE SUN:

A REVOLUTIONARY TRUTH ABOUT PAGANS, CHRISTIANS, AND THE ONE GOD BEHIND EVERYTHING

There is a truth older than scripture, older than temples, older than every division we’ve inherited:

Humanity began as one.
One earth.
One sun.
One mysterious, overwhelming Presence we were all trying to understand.

Long before Judaism, Christianity, or Islam rose,
long before theology and doctrine split us into tribes,
human beings stood on sacred ground
and reached upward with the same question:

“What is this force that breathes through everything?”

The answers came in stories, symbols, and names, different languages describing the same light.

And nowhere is this more powerful, more ironic, and more revealing
than in Jerusalem.

🌿 JERUSALEM BEFORE RELIGION: WHEN EVERYTHING WAS GOD

Thousands of years before the Bible, the Qur’an, or the Torah were written, Jerusalem already had a name:

Uru–Shalem

The City of Shalem.

Shalem was not a demon, an idol, or a threat.
Shalem was the dusk. The peace. The completion.
A personified way to understand the quiet moment when the sun rests.

To the Canaanite peoples,
nature was the first scripture.

  • The dawn had a name.
  • The dusk had a name.
  • Fertility had a name.
  • Storms had a name.
  • Death had a name.
  • Life had a name.

Everything was God in disguise.

This wasn’t ignorance.
This was the human mind doing what we still do today, breaking the Infinite into pieces so we can hold it.

Polytheism was humanity’s first spiritual language,
a way to understand the vast force behind nature.

They weren’t worshipping “many gods.”
They were worshipping many faces of the same Source, without yet knowing the word “One.”

🔥 THEN CAME THE REVOLUTION: “THERE IS ONE GOD.”

When the Hebrews came into the land, they didn’t bring a new god.
They brought a new understanding:

All the forces, all the faces, all the stories,
were expressions of one eternal Being.

Not many gods.
One God wearing many masks.

They didn’t erase the land or rename it.
They reinterpreted it.

Uru–Shalem became:

Yerushalayim, The City of Peace.

The City of Wholeness.**

The name stayed.
The meaning evolved.

And in that evolution lies one of the greatest spiritual truths:

The One contains the Many.

The Many reveal the One.**

This is not contradiction.
This is alchemy.

⚖️ GOD HAS SHADOWS, AND THEY ARE NOT EVIL

Every religion grapples with:

  • good and evil
  • light and darkness
  • chaos and order
  • temptation and redemption

These aren’t different gods fighting each other.
They are the two sides of one divine coin.

Just as nature has storm and calm,
humanity has shadow and light.

The shadow is not God’s opposite,
it is God’s lesson-giver.

To deny the shadow is to misunderstand the whole.

This is where humanity goes wrong:
when we refuse to see God fully,
when we polish the light and hide the darkness,
we turn the divine into a weapon.

And division begins.

🌍 THE DISCONNECTION: WHY WE FIGHT OVER THE SAME GOD

Why do Christians argue with pagans?
Why do Jews argue with Christians?
Why do Muslims argue with both?
Why do spiritual seekers feel exiled from all of it?

Because we cling to our language for God
and forget the essence of God.

We defend our story
and deny someone else’s.

But here’s the truth no one wants to admit:

Pagans looked at nature and found God.

Jews looked at law and found God.
Christians looked at love and found God.
Muslims looked at devotion and found God.
Mystics look within and find God.

Not different gods.

Different lenses.
Same sun.

🌞 A REVOLUTIONARY REMINDER: WE ARE ONE UNDER THE SUN

If the holiest city on earth, Jerusalem,
can begin with a pagan name
and become the heart of monotheism,

then maybe God has never belonged to one people.
Maybe God has always belonged to all people.
Maybe the divine has always spoken every language.

We have been divided for thousands of years because we forgot the ancient truth:

**We are not strangers.

We are not enemies.
We are not opposites.
We are expressions of the same divine curiosity.**

We are the children of one Source
learning to understand ourselves through different stories.

The pagans weren’t wrong.
The monotheists weren’t wrong.
The mystics weren’t wrong.

Everyone was simply describing different aspects of the Infinite
with the vocabulary they had.

🌞 THE FUTURE OF SPIRITUALITY: UNITY, NOT UNIFORMITY

The world is evolving.

People are tired of division.
Tired of fear.
Tired of being told they must choose one story at the expense of another.

The new spiritual era, the one being born right now, rests on one foundation:

We do not need to worship the same way

to walk toward the same Light.

You are allowed to hold the ancient gods in one hand
and the modern God in the other
and recognise that they are siblings,
not rivals.

You are allowed to honour nature, scripture, ritual, intuition, and science
at the same time.

You are allowed to be whole.

Because the Infinite is whole.

🌞 WE ARE ALL ONE UNDER THE SUN

AND THE WORLD IS READY TO REMEMBER.

If Jerusalem, the city named after a pagan god,
can become the spiritual centre of the world,

then unity is not only possible.
It is inevitable.
It is ancient.
It is destiny.
